More Storm of 2008 pix

Some pix close to home. Note the 12" of snowpack on the deck that I shovelled off. Whew.

24 F outside. Ice pellets (new technical weatherman words for sleet) fall near dawn, leaving a thin layer of ice all over 6" of fresh powder. Winter wonderland in Portland and most points North!

My last view of Cedar Breaks, sunset the day before we left. This is a panorama image, taken in 20 degree F cold with 20-30 MPH winds (I was standing at 10,000 feet at the Grand Viewpoint.)

Another view of Cedar Breaks.

Bryce Canyon Hike

Sun rings, twin arches, and more.

BIG panorama

At Mesa Verde Cliff Palace View, there are at least 4 cliff dwellings visible in this pan.

On the road big time, with big panoramas!

Heather Meadows View

Thought I'd have a separate blog entry for these pix. A trip the day before up to Heather Meadow in Mt Baker Forest. Awesome creation of God! This is Mt. Shuksan.

Birch Bay eagle

Just back yesterday from Birch Bay WA. This eagle landed verrrrry close to the condo, I was within 40 feet of him to take some shots:

Two "no pan" panoramas

In the valley just south of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone. One with Bison, one with an Elk group.
